Being compassionate towards yourself means embracing your humanity.

We all make mistakes, and we cannot always be at our peak productivity or fulfill every social role flawlessly, whether it’s as a worker, friend, parent, or spouse.

It’s crucial to let go of rigid, perfectionistic expectations and instead show ourselves kindness and compassion during life’s challenging moments.

When your inner critic takes over, take a moment to reflect and practice these affirmations. Initially, it might feel unfamiliar, but giving yourself permission to be human brings relief and cultivates self-compassion.

Here are some affirmations to practice:

1️⃣ It’s okay if I’m not always productive at work.
2️⃣ I don’t have to excel in every task or skillset, and that’s perfectly fine.
3️⃣ Making mistakes is part of being human, and that’s okay.
4️⃣ I acknowledge that I’m not the perfect friend, spouse, or parent, and that’s okay.
5️⃣ Feeling tired or unmotivated sometimes is normal, and it’s okay.
6️⃣ I recognize that I’m not always as thoughtful as I’d like to be, and that’s okay.
7️⃣ My body is not perfect, and that’s absolutely okay.

Give yourself the gift of acceptance and compassion. You deserve it!
